"synopsis" may belong to another edition of this title.Ĭynthia "Cyn" Lopez sweeps up after TV star stepsisters and attends the ball wearing glass Manolos in the latest Chiquita lit offering from Platas ( Friday Night Chicas). And, when Prince Charming enters, Cyn must go head-to-head with her truly wicked stepsisters in order to win back her father's fortune, her perfect man, and, most importantly, her life.

Now, Cyn is finally wising up and realizing that she is no longer stepsister to the stars-she is personal assistant/slave to the stars (or Las Diablas, as the Latin press likes to call them). Sensible Cyn used to be content hiding in the shadows of her larger-than-life sisters. Two of New York's hottest It-Girls, they know all the right people, own all the right things, and go to all the right parties. At first, living with Ami and Lila had been fun, even exciting at times.

Now, nine years later, twenty-four-year-old Cyn is counting down the days to that fateful birthday. Between that and the '89 classic, My Boyfriends Back (I watched that movie till the tape wore out), I'm a pretty serious zombie fanatic.Fifteen-year-old Cynthia Lopez made a promise to her dying father: she will live with her two stepsisters, Ami and Lila, until she turns 25, at which point she'll inherit his large estate. Zombies are one of my favorite monsters and had a huge influence on me growing up as the zombie cultural boom really took off during my teens. If you didn't know that May is Zombie Awareness Month, I'm happy I get to be the one to inform you of this little-known celebration. Who said romance was dead? It's not dead but UNdead, at least it is in this collection. So, if you like coffee and would love a little more whimsy in your life, let me recommend some books for you to read.

When I'm not reading, recommending awesome books, crafting, or playing video games, I can usually be found trying out a new Steampunk outfit or helping out my local Theatre community. My hobbies and life are quite similar to the books I read (aside from the magic, why can't there be more magic?!). Even those heartbreaking and blood pumping moments when you get overly invested in the characters you’re reading that keep your on your toes with every turn of the page. I like reading books for the escapes they offer, the magic, romance, whimsy, and humor. That girl gripping a book in her trembling hands, looking like a loon, struggling not to laugh out loud on your daily commute, that's me.
